·product review· Trader Joe's Queso Cheese Dip

photo compliments of Peanut Butter & Peppers

This Queso Cheese Dip is one of the craziest food finds I've stumbled upon at Trader Joe's.  Check out those macros!  That's 165 calories for the whole jar.  It's also marked as vegetarian.

These are over by the chips where the salsas are, and I don't normally wander down that aisle.  One day I was going to pick up some Pineapple Salsa, and I saw this.

Here's my thoughts:

Flavor:   If you are expecting pure cheese, you're probably going to be disappointed.  There is a ton of cheesy flavor, though.  It's delightfully mixed with the tomatoes and peppers, and has a hint of spice.

Texture:  Definitely not the texture of a full fat cheesy dip, although I've never had real queso before.  It's still deliciously smooth and has a nice creamy texture.

Afterthoughts:  This is a great find and I'm so glad I saw it!  I'll be using this to make some healthy nachos or quesadillas.

Price is pretty good.  Most of Trader Joe's products are at great prices, which is why I like doing a lot of my shopping there.
